On Broadway opened in the Parchen Building in Downtown Helena back in February 1980. As history tells, the building was the home of many local businesses over the decades. Before On Broadway opened, the space was the home of “Marino & Cavallari Italian Grocery” and “Parchen Drug” along with a small hotel. Mrs. Marino ran the store for roughly 50 years. She had dining tables set up with booths, close to the area where our booths are now, where she would feed local, Italian families.

The tradition has continued from those simple days in the Italian Grocer, and we’re honored to share in Mrs. Marino’s passion for serving the community with exquisite food and service.

"I started working as a prep cook two weeks after the opening of On Broadway in 1980. I continued working here when I was home from U of M on breaks. After finishing my degree in economics in 1985, I returned to Helena and started working for Fergie, the owner at the time, as a host and manager. Funny, I never planned on it. I was trying to find a job within the Federal Reserve but, it was not to be. I took more of Fergie daily duties away from him each year, doing the payroll and ordering all the beer and wine from the start. By the 90's I was pretty much the general manager and the host 5 nights a week. I've always loved this place....."

Patrick has worked at On Broadway for 40 years, and he still loves it. He bought the company in 2011 and has kept the amazing experience, that the restaurant offers, at the same exceptional level it has always been. He clearly has a passion for people and good food. You'll find him occasionally working as a host some evenings, or supporting the team in various ways. His main role at On Broadway is owner and team support, and his staff can attest to how wonderful he is to work for. In his spare time, he loves sailing and spending time with his lovely wife.

John has been part of the On Broadway family since 2012.
Not only does John deliver perfect service to each of the tables he serves, but he also offers a joke or two during your dining experience.

Meet Leticia (Lety), one of our knowledgable waitstaff.
Lety has been caring for our customers for over 5 years now. Our customers appreciate her attentive service and a warm smile! Her favorite On Broadway menu item is our Prosciutto Angel Hair.
When Lety is not working, she enjoys spending time with her 2 kiddos and her husband. They love to camp, hike, and explore all that this beautiful state has to offer.

Sean, one of our most experienced servers (and tried and true Helenan), has been working with us since October of '01!

He swears by the Tuscan Grilled Chicken and his favorite drink - our "Pearfection". (Ask him about it sometime!

Sean loves his job, and it really shows in his incredible attitude and work ethic, excellent service, and the ever-present skip in his step! What he loves most about On Broadway is the consistency over the years - the kind, loyal customers and our hard-working staff. His customers love his attention to detail, his authenticity, and of course... his million-dollar smile.
